J2'S  GOREY 56       MULLINGAR  5

Gorey RFC J2's came up against Mullingar RFC at home on Saturday evening last in Clonattin before the main game and again sent out a message that this is a formidable and strong side. They made it two out of two wins with a convincing display running in ten tries.

This display was again clinical and from the whistle Gorey started to play their usual fluid rugby. Sean O' Connor was first off the mark with a delightful wrap around move which he started and finished himself in the corner and also converted his own try. From then on Gorey opening the flood gates and next on the score board was Paul Wafer whom went over after a lovely run and lay off by Jason Emery. Next up was Jason himself followed by Wayne Peaboy with another conversion by Sean O'Connor left the score at 24pts to nil at half time.

When Gorey returned after the break they did not let up and Colin French was first in this half to get on the score board followed by two super try's finished off by Darren Dunne. Paul wafer add his second and after this Wayne Peaboy went in for his second also and last but not least Robbert Harrington got over in the corner for the last try of the evening from Gorey with one more conversion to add to the score board left it 56pts to nil. Mullingar ran in a last minute try to put the final tally 56pts to 5pts,which was a great start to the evenings rugby entertainment and set the standard for the J1 to follow.
