J2'S CONTINUE WINNING WAYS   21/10/2013

J2's Gorey 17  Roscrea 6

Gorey J2's lined out against Roscrea last Sunday hoping to keep their unbeaten record intacted in this league and looking to leapfrog Roscrea in the league table. The game was a tough battle and the weather conditions did not help as the rain poured down during the game.

Gorey started the game with plenty of go forward ball and played some nice rugby and it was not long before they were rewarded with their first try after a well organised maul was formed and from this Killian Breen scored in the corner. Next up was Fergal Bolger back from injury who was on the end of a push over try and brought the score to 10 nil but with only a minute left in the half  Gorey gave away a penalty under pressure and Roscrea reached half time 10 points to 3 down.

The second half was a similar affair with heavier rain falling it became a territorial battle. Roscrea got the first points of this half when they were awarded a penalty in front of the posts. With only minutes left in the game Gorey were hounding Roscrea's tryline and it was Paul Wafer who got the last try, Clinton Furney converted and the game ended 17points to 6 pionts for Gorey, still unbeaten. The J2's like the J1's have a break next week before taking on Railway Union away on Friday night 1st of November in Sydney Parade.
