J2'S PICK UP WERE THEY LEFT OFF
02/12/2013
North Kildare 5 V Gorey 34
Leinster Seconds League Division 2a
At the Maws, Kilcock
Gorey J2's travelled to Kilcock, North Kildare last Sunday itching to get back onto the field of play after a two week break (one week forced on them by Clane not been able to field a team) from the competitive game.
The J2's are topping their league with Railway Union nipping at their heels. With Railway Union not playing this weekend because of a bereavement in the club, Gorey like their counterparts the J1's can establish a gap at the top of the table.
The match was a slow starter and it took 15 minutes for Gorey to settle into this game. When they did they were clinical and proved to strong for a North Kildare side who battled hard only to run out of steam. Gorey ran in 5 tries in all (1 Paul Wafer 2 Willie Kearney 2 Fergal Bolger) 1 penalty and 3 conversions by Clinton Furney and put pay to any challenge to their top of league position. North Kildare got a concilliation try of their own to bring the final score to Gorey 34 North Kildare 5 .They like the J1's are still unbeaten and face Portlaoise at home next Sunday.
