J2'S WIN IN MULLINGAR MUD BATH   16/12/2013

                              Mullingar 5 V Gorey 22

Gorey J2's return to action this weekend against Mullingar after a two week break and were egar to carry on were they left off in Cullion and put some daylight between themselves and second place Railway Union in this league. Unbeaten so far this season the J2's were keen to get a result and travel back to Gorey one step closer to claiming the seconds Division 2a title.

The game kick off and it took Gorey quite some thing before they got the measure of their opponents who started the game quite lively. Gorey were first to score when Philip Swaine was pushd over and Clinton Furney converted . Mullingar came straight back at Gorey and clocked up a try of their own to go into the half time break 7 pts to 5 down to Gorey.

With rain pouring down the game resumed and turned into a mud bath as the photo gallery will show. Gorey never looked back and with tries from Josh White and Sean Kinane and a conversion and penalty from Clinton Furney brought the final score to 22pts for Gorey 5pts to Mullingar. Gorey still top their league and like the J1’S go into Christmas break unbeaten
