Gorey U13s 49   Cill Dara 12 

Gorey under 13's played Cill Dara RFC in the 1st round of the Leinster cup
on Saturday the 3rd March at their home ground in Clonattin

This was Gorey's first competitive game after their win over New Ross to
take the South East title two weeks earlier. Gorey continued on in the same
fashion from the Ross game with some fantastic play from the forwards and
backs alike and when the ball was fed out you knew nothing was going to stop
them. They started the game in a very businesslike fashion and controlled
the pitch for the 1st half with Gorey going in at half time with 26 points
to nil. Gorey put in some very hard tackles and did not give Cill Dara any
room to run the ball

Gorey started the 2nd half very strong and scored another 2 tries and
conversions before Cill Dara got a point on the board. It must be said that
when Cill Dara got room to run the ball they looked very dangerous and it
was from such play that they got their two tries.

Gorey's number 3 Liam Molly discovered how to do hand off's and he made some
excellent breaks and was justly rewarded with a try. Full back Killian
Pearce had his best game of the season with some superb tackling and darting
breaks at the game line. Gorey hooker Andy Kinsella must have had his
spinach as he was first up and tackling players twice his size. Owen Molloy
also had a fantastic game and provide great support and was a true team
player.

The Gorey try scorers were Llyod Stephens, Liam Molloy, Shane Stokes, Owen
Molloy, Jack Minogue, Killian Pearce, Joseph Naughton, Charlie McGuckin,
conversions and penalty scores were by Jack O Mahoney and Killian Pearce.
