Gorey Under 15s make Leinster Cup semi final

Gorey Under 15s made the long trip to Dundalk to play in the Leinster Cup Quarter Final and made sure the long trip was not in vain with an impressive victory against the Louth Team.

After a disappointing defeat to Kilkenny in the league the Gorey lads showed great resilience and team spirit in bouncing back for this important game. In truth the opposition was under pressure from the start. Gorey showed no sign of tiredness from the long journey to Dundalk, and on a beautiful sunny Saturday opened the scoring with a typical Sam Kennedy try. From then on they
never looked back with the forwards providing a steady platform for centers John Roche and Joe Gardiner to punch holes in the opposition backline. Tries also from the ever present Paul Boyle and winger Nicolas Kearns left Gorey 19-0 up at the break.

The second half followed a similar pattern with Gorey winning regular ball at the breakdown and moving it wide intelligently by outhalf Kevin Harrington for backs such as the impressive John Roche, Joe Gardiner, Arran Davies and flanker Ross Doyle to score tries. The contest was over well before the final whistle. Overall this was a promising performance for Gorey but they are under no illusions that there will be tougher tasks to come. The team were as follows

1Darragh Bellanova 2 Jack Byrne 3 Daniel Keogh 4 David Burke 5 Captain Declan Wildes 6 Ross
Doyle 7 Lee Farrel 8 Paul Boyle 9 Arran Davies 10 Kevin Harrington 11 Sam Kennedy 12 Joe
Gardiner 13 John Roche 14 Nicholas Kearns 15 Conor Butler, 16 Jack O' Hagen, 17 Achiella
