"Thursday Night Lights" stormed into the lead in the first week of competition with a 25 - 5 will over "Owen & the Olyawns", while "Hawaii-Try-O" are hot on their heels after their impressive 28 - 11 win over newcomers "Courtown Life Saving".
The Senior's Advanced league also had a few surprises as "Wibbly Wobbly Wonders" went down 6 - 11 to "Ex-Lifeguards" in a thrilling game that put the "Ex-Lifeguards" into second place in the league after the first round of games.
But if you thought this game was tight, it was nothing compared to the ding-dong battle between "Globogym Purple Cobras" and "Two GIrls One Tag", with a late score giving "2 Girls" the win with a scoreline of 12 - 11.
In the Veteran's league "The Barbarians" continued their unbeaten run from last season with an impressive 14 - 2 win over "Pirates Cove" and they once again appear to be the team to beat this season.
While newcomers "Gym Bunnies" laid down a marker with a 12 - 4 win over a depleted "Tara Meadows Taggers".
It's obviously very early days in the tournament and there are bound to be a few twists and turns as we get into the competition in earnest.
