Gorey J2 win sends them top of the table 

A very young Gorey J2 team secured a bonus point win away to Dundalk on Saturday last. 

Both sides were prepared to run the ball at every attempt and the high scoring game was testimony to that with a Henry Kennedy penalty with the last kick of  the game securing the Gorey victory. 

Gorey were first to score when Dan Byrne found a gap to race through for the opening try, Kennedy converted. 

Dundalk responded and scored a fine try. 

But the last play of the half saw Eoin Austin finish off a good try with 

A stroke halftime  quick  hands through the backs saw second row Eoin Austin finish in the corner 12 12 at the break.

Dundalk were quick out of the blocks with two early tries converting one to take the lead for the first time in the match. 17 12.

Two Joe Naughton tries restored Gorey’s lead to 22 17. But back came Dundalk with a late try in the corner to level matters. 

But Gorey were to have the last say when with the last play of the game Henry Kennedy landed a penalty to close out an entertaining game.

Gorey had some good performances in the pack with Dan Byrne Eoin Austin and Gavin MacGongle,  Fergal Bolger Henry Kennedy and Joe Naughton were the pick of the backs
