Massive congratulations from all in Gorey RFC to Maeve Mannion on being the first winner of our Ruggo Jackpot. Following our J1s victory over Wicklow, on Sun 12/10, Maeve was presented with her winning cheque for â¬8,900. Maeve is a very popular winner having spent many hours working hard in the Clubhouse. More recently her talents were put to use on the dance floor, for our neighbours in Naomh Eanna, in Strictly Come Dancing!
Gorey RFC's Club Lottery (Ruggo) was launched as part of a major fundraising drive to deliver the facilities required for this & future generations of rugby players in the Gorey area. This has led to the construction of a top class gym, which is the envy of clubs everywhere, and more recently a facelift to our Clubhouse, the realignment of pitches to create all weather facilities, larger training areas and the installation of match quality lighting on our 2nd pitch.
But we are not finished there and the continued support of the Ruggo is still required to enable us to see through on our plans. Thank You to our existing Ruggo members for your continuing support. New members can sign up for the Ruggo for just â¬104 per year with Entry forms available from the Clubhouse, Gorey RFC Committee Members or from the Club's authorised representatives.
Noddy was overcome with emotion as the Cheque was handed over!
