GOREY V ENNISCORTHY
UNDER 19 LEINSTER LEAGUE PREMIER SEMI FINAL

Gorey 11 Enniscorthy 10

Under 19 Leinster League Premier semi final turned into an old fashioned forward battle in the conditions that prevailed on a remarkably good pitch at Tullow. With Gorey leading 6-3 thanks to two Conor Hatton penalties to one from Brendan Kearney , Enniscorthy drew first blood with a slick line out move resulting in Naoise Dunbar crashing over for a try after good work by Davy Murphy, Jamie Barron, Jack Murphy, Conor McDonald and Tom Ryan with Brendan Kearney adding the conversion to lead 10 -6 going into half time.

Playing with the elements Enniscorthy turned over in a comfortable position but ill discipline was their undoing , from a promising attacking position they conceded four successive penalties to end up defending on their own line. The defence held and turned over the ball but when in control they inexplicably conceded another penalty for Goreys stand out forward Stephen Gardiner to crash over from resultant tap. Once Gorey got in front they dominated possession and when Enniscorthy did get their hands on the ball some mishandling, understandable in the conditions, and poor decision making ensured their backs were not going to be able to rescue their campaign.
