UNDER 13s THROUGH TO LEINSTER CUP FINAL

On Sunday 29th April, Gorey replayed their Leinster Cup semi final against

Tullow in New Ross in near gale conditions.

Gorey started the game very well and kept control of the game and were
camped out in the Tullow 22 for the 1st quarter. Tullow defended
magnificently but could not stop Charlie McGuckin going over for a try in
the 17 minute, allowing Gorey to go in 5 up at half time.

The second half started as the first with Gorey in control but the Tullow
number 10 made a great break and side stepped no fewer than 5 Gorey players
to score right under the posts (you would know he was the Tullow kicker),
even with a straight kick the number 10 converted in near impossible wind
conditions.

Gorey came back at Tullow with a change of plan and kept the ball tight
within the pack. Gorey went on in a Munster fashion with pick and go play
and starved Tullow of the ball. After 14 phases of play Lloyd Stephens got
over from a try. Tullow kicked off with a very high ball that seemed to hang
in the air forever, Gorey's number 15 Killian Pearce caught the ball as
clean as a whistle, even Rob Carney would have been proud of such a catch.
Gorey continued keeping the ball in hand with a great performance form all
the forwards.

Final score Gorey 10 Tullow 7

Gorey play Mullingar on Sunday 6th May in Portlaoise, all support welcome.
