PROVINCIAL TOWNS CUP DRAW
The draw for the 1st round of the Provincial Towns Cup was conducted on Saturday afternoon in the Ballsbridge Hotel.
A large attendance that included Pat Fitzgerald President of the IRFU, Paul Deering President of the Leinster Branch, Stuart Bayley, Honorary Secretary of the Leinster Branch as well as Ciaran O'Brien, Managing Director of Cleaning Contractors were in attendance.
Leinster players Sean O'Brien and Fergus McFadden drew the teams for the 13 ties and three byes.
Gorey were fortrunate to get a hime draw, coincidentally against their Leinster League opponeents today (15 Dec) Mullingar Rfc, which should give today's game a little more interest.
Enniscorthy, Rathdrum and Co Carlow got byes in the 2nd round and the entire draw is below.
First round games will be played on Sunday 26th January with 2:30 pm kick offs.
We're hoping to have a huge crowd to cheer on Gorey for what is for most clubs the pinnacle of the club calendar and is a very special tournament, which brings out the best of what the provincial game has to offer.
Gorey had a fantastic run last year, with some giant killing games, and were very unlucky to go out when we did.
